Busy Week of Summer Pickleball Events
It starts Wednesday with the EPC “Hot August Night” Social at the new Troutdale Tavern, 4-7 pm. Under the umbrellas on the patio for drinks, appetizers and, if you want, eats off the Happy Hour or dinner menu. If you’re not an EPC member you can sign up here.
Then Thursday morning at Marshdale join the EPC board at 10 am for the presentation of pickleball players’ $1,000 donation for the AED to executives, staff and board members of EPRD.
Friday afternoon everyone is invited to Potluck ‘n’ Pickle under the pavilion at Marshdale. Bring your picnic, sides, apps and desserts to share 4-7 pm. And stay to play some pickleball.
Finally, next Tuesday, Aug. 16, the EPC board invites members for the EPC Tailgate under the Marshdale pavilion, 4-7 pm. We’ll provide BBQ pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, you bring sides, apps and desserts to share plus utensils and your beverage of choice. No need to bring table or chairs. There will be lots of games, and competitions on the courts and off, Be sure to let Pat Theno know you’re coming so we can prepare enough BBQ for everyone. Must be an EPC member to attend.

Tom Karas, Director of Pickleball at Hiwan Golf Club is a USA Pickleball 5.0 player who with his partner Dan Schuler won gold medals at tournaments including Great Plains Regional, Colorado Open, and Rocky Mountain State Games, and silver at the 2018 USAPA Nationals.
Before returning to Arizona Sept. 1, Tom is offering a special on lessons for Evergreen Pickleball Club members for the remainder of August. You will see immediate improvement in your game based on Tom’s teaching methods.
