New open play opportunity
Todd Landrum, newly elected secretary of the EPC board, is temporarily writing this newsletter while I am being treated for an exacerbation of a longstanding condition, myasthenia gravis. We are all very fortunate that he is so qualified and so willing to help. I know you’ll enjoy his writing as much as I do. Don’t miss his EPC board meeting minutes!
When I took this job over from Bob Taber two years ago, he advised me to write it like I’m addressing my friends. I’ve tried to do just that because it’s true. That’s why i may be oversharing. My abilities change from day to day, and from morning to afternoon, so I am not reliable when it comes to writing newsletters or, actually, of being accurate (or even reasonable) when I do.
You may see me on the courts, because I’m going to keep doing what I love to do whenever I can do it. And now it’s over to Todd. -Debbie Marshall

EPRD Reservation Updates
EPRD continues to fine tune the pickleball reservation system. A couple new developments:
Maintaining a waiting list was too labor intensive so is no longer available. Instead, they allow up to 26 people to sign-up with the thought that a couple people will probably no show. Ideally, 24 people each session.
You can now cancel a reservation you made online. If you can't make a session you signed up for, it would be super courteous if you cancelled so those waiting can get in. Here's how to do it:
Sign-in to your account at activecommunities (same place you registered at)
Go to My Account
Click the big Transaction and Payment History button
You'll see your registration there and a new, shiny Withdraw button
And your frequent friendly reminder that you should only be playing 1 session a day at Wulf so that everyone has the opportunity to play.
Players returned to Marshdale Thursday even before the last vestiges of snow were gone. Thanks to Kathy Fasold for responding to a request for a photo.
New TeamReach Group
TeamReach, as you may already know, is a social messaging app. Technophile John Dunlop has setup two different groups on TeamReach that may be of interest to Evergreen Pickleball players:
Evergreen Co Pickleball: Is a long existing group strictly for organizing play at Marshdale and at Wulf. This is where you ask “Is anyone playing at Marshdale today?” and then 20 people respond “Yes” and then we all ask “What time?” and then someone asks “Is it windy?” and then about 3 hours later someone posts “I left my water bottle. Anybody seen it?”. If those are questions you frequently have, this is the group for you.
Evergreen PB Commerce Site: Is a brand spanking new TeamReach group for all commercial things that might be of interest to Evergreen Pickleball players. This is where you might see announcements from Club 45, Mount Vernon, Epic, and others. You might find someone selling eggs. This is where you can sell the paddle you have that refuses to hit shots down the line even though you perfectly aimed them. This is where you can post links to eyeglass companies as a hint, hint to that guy that calls balls out that were in.
Anyone is free to join and post to either group. These groups are not a “club” thing, but rather something John has set up and manages on his own. Direct all compliments and complaints to John.
You get the TeamReach app from your phone's app store
