Tournament Updates
June 27, Saturday: The Geezers and Dinkeroo
Geezers is happening at 8 AM and the Dinkeroo is at 10 AM. Both tournaments are currently full, but you can register with EPRD to be on the wait list. If enough people are on the wait list, it’ll pressure Roger to expand the field. Geezer Signup and Dinkeroo Signup.
July 11th, Saturday, Marshdale: Men’s Doubles Championship
The men’s tournament try something new for Evergreen Pickleball and use a Compass Tournament format. (If that chart is not clear, all questions should be directed to Roger Miles.)
Each team will play 4 matches. The first three matches will be one game to 11 points win by 2. The fourth and final match will be the best two out of three games to 11 points win by 2. Every team will play a minimum for 5 games. As we progress through the tournament, all matches should become more competitive. The team that wins all four of their matches will be crowned Champion. There will be three teams with three wins, and they will be the Second-Place winners.
August 22nd, Saturday, Marshdale: Mixed Doubles Championship
Maybe it’ll be Compass format. Maybe not. We’ll see how the Men’s goes.
September 19th, Saturday, Mount Vernon Country Club: Women’s Double Championship
Maybe Compass format. Maybe mimosas. Probably less grunting than the other tournaments.
